Use Foldr with v0.dev (MCP)

v0 is Vercel's AI UI generator — you describe a screen, v0 writes the React/Tailwind code. v0 added "Integrations" in early 2026 that speak MCP so generated apps can reach external APIs while being scaffolded. Foldr is a natural integration — any v0 project that needs file uploads can call Foldr out of the box.

VercelWeb (v0.dev)MCP: experimental

Installation

Add the Foldr MCP server to v0.dev with the snippet below. Replace fs_live_... with an API key from foldr.space/developers.

v0.dev → Project → Integrations → + Add
Select: Foldr (MCP)
Paste: FOLDR_API_KEY = fs_live_...

v0 will wire the client SDK into your generated code automatically.

Setup tip: Works best in v0 projects targeting Next.js App Router.

  • Generate a hosted Foldr form and paste the submission URL into your reply

v0.dev + Foldr FAQ

How do I install the Foldr MCP server in v0.dev?

Open v0.dev's MCP configuration (Settings → Connectors / Integrations) and paste the config block shown above. Set FOLDR_API_KEY to a key you create at foldr.space/api-keys. Restart v0.dev if it doesn't hot-reload.

Which Foldr plan do I need to use the MCP integration with v0.dev?

The Foldr MCP server is available on every paid plan (Pro from $5/mo and Developer tier for API-heavy usage). The free tier can generate temporary 7-day links; for permanent storage, a Pro plan or Foldr Space is required.

I set the key but v0.dev says the Foldr tool isn't available — what's wrong?

The two most common issues: (1) v0.dev wasn't restarted after editing the config — most MCP hosts need a restart to pick up new servers. (2) Your API key is missing the `mcp:invoke` scope. Regenerate a key at foldr.space/api-keys with full scope and retry.

Can v0.dev upload files directly to Foldr, or just generate URLs?

v0.dev can do both. The MCP server exposes tools for `upload_file` (takes a local path or base64 blob), `shorten_url`, and `create_bio_page`. Any file v0.dev can read from disk can be uploaded.

Is the Foldr MCP integration with v0.dev production-ready?

Foldr's MCP server is stable and used in production. v0.dev's MCP support is currently experimental — expect rough edges and breaking changes. We pin to stable SDK versions and publish changelog entries for every breaking change.
