Upload Legacy .doc Files and Share Them via Link
Two decades of documents live in .doc format. They still need to move between people — archives, old contracts, institutional records.
Upload DOC nowThe .doc format (Word 97-2003) predates .docx and refuses to die: law offices hold decades of contracts in it, government and institutional archives are full of it, and plenty of organizations never migrated. These files need faithful transfer more than most — they're often records, where the original bytes are the point. Modern Word, LibreOffice, and Google Docs all still open .doc, so the recipient side is rarely a problem.

Frequently asked questions
Should I convert .doc to .docx before sharing?
If the file is a living document: converting to .docx is reasonable. If it's a record (a signed contract, an archived original): send it untouched — conversion rewrites the file, which is exactly what archival integrity forbids.
Do tracked changes and comments survive?
Yes — the file is delivered byte-identical, so everything embedded in it arrives intact. Be aware of that when sharing: accepted-but-not-removed metadata travels too.
What opens .doc in 2026?
Microsoft Word (all current versions), LibreOffice, Google Docs on import, and Apple Pages. Compatibility remains excellent.
Is there a size limit?
Effectively no — .doc files with heavy embedded images might reach tens of MB against a 2GB Pro cap.
